Mahatama Gandhi whom we now refer to as father of India adopted a non-violent movement to throw the Britishers out of our homeland. He resorted to non-violence when the whole of India was turning aggressive and independence was demanded at any cost. He succeeded and restored our pride. He became such a huge figure that whenever we talk of independence we make it a point to talk about him...now after 65 yrs another person with the name Anna Hazaare is doing something similar...just the cause is different and opponent side is our own countrymen.
Anna Hazaare calls himself a follower of Gandhi, wears a Gandhi cap and his major weapon like Gandhi is NON-VIOLENCE. The cause for which he is fighting at the age of 74 when majority of the people indulge in religious activities or paste themselves to bed is CORRUPTION...it has become a major political issue in a country with population of 125 crores. When Gandhi protested the Britishers tried all possible ways to terminate his activities...but the case was different then. We were colonized. We were mere puppets in the hands of the Britishers...but now when Anna Hazaare is protesting we have entered the 65th year of independence...we are a fully democratic country and we boast of the world's biggest written constitution and still our own elected government terms the protests as a non constitutional activity and is putting Anna in jail with all his supporters. This is not justified. Aren't we living in a free country? Can't an ordinary person raise his voice against the wrongdoings? Are we living under some kind of dictatorship??
Detaining Anna and then releasing him after the countrywide protests just to control the situation has revealed the true face of the UPA govt ruling at the centre. The govt appears so scared and helpless right now. Such huge groups of people are coming on the streets supporting Anna's cause. This scenario which is seen in the whole country depicts how determined we have become to eradicate this evil from our society. Promises promises and some more promises this is what the UPA govt has been giving for past 8 years. Now everybody has become tired listening to all the big fake promises...It’s now TIME TO ACT.....!!!Mahatama Gandhi whom we now refer to as father of India adopted a non-violent movement to throw the Britishers out of our homeland. It is a common practice for partners to tell 'harmless' lies to avoid revealing how they spend their money, but doing so is now equivalent to cheating on your partner.
A new poll has revealed that as many as 30 per cent of Americans commit 'financial infidelity' that sometimes leads to separation or divorce. The Harris Interactive online poll of 2, 019 adults showed 31 percent of American couples who have combined finances were not truthful about issues such as hiding cash or a bank account or about debt or earnings.
"Financial infidelity may be the new normal, " the Daily Mail quoted Forbes, which commissioned the survey with the National Endowment for Financial Education, as saying. One-third of respondents also said they have been deceived, and both sexes lie to their partners about money in equal numbers. "These indiscretions cause significant damage to the relationship, " said Ted Beck, of the National Endowment for Financial Education. Of those affected by financial infidelity, 16 percent said the deception led to a divorce and 11 percent said it caused a separation. Sixty-seven percent said it led to an argument and for 42 percent it lessened trust in the relationship. According to Forbes, the most common lie was hiding cash at 58 percent. Fifty-four percent of respondents admitted hiding a minor purchase, 30 percent hid a bill, 16 percent did not disclose a major purchase and 15 percent hid a bank account.
MoreHere’s a suggestion for women who want to succeed at work – try resisting the temptation to act like men, suggest researchers. Their studies show that women who take an aggressive approach are often less likely to get ahead than those who exhibit more feminine traits. If however, they try to conform, promotion comes their way, the research from George Mason University in Virginia found.
The findings, which will dismay feminists, suggest the best way for a woman to succeed in a man’s world is to act like a lady, reports the Daily Mail. They tally with past research that showed women oozing with self-confidence, assertiveness and other characteristics linked with successful management can be side-lined at work in favour of meeker types. It is thought that while such traits are highly-prized in men, go-getting women are penalised for not being feminine enough and are seen as less likeable. The study appears in a journal published by the British Psychological Society.
MoreA new study has revealed that Kids today would rather learn how to operate a computer than to learn how to ride a bike or how to swim. Software maker AVG Technologies conducted a survey amongst 2, 200 women and found that 14 percent of kids aged 4 to 5 could tie their shoes -- compared to 21 percent who knew how to use a smartphone or iPad application.
Among kids aged 2 to 5, 52 percent knew how to ride a bike, while 58 percent could play a computer game and 69 percent could operate a computer mouse. Twenty percent knew how to swim, but 25 percent could open a Web browser. "Children's behavior has changed, and that's mainly because the way we use the technology is so different. It changes everything, " ABC news quoted J.R. Smith, AVG's CEO, as saying. However, the survey raises serious doubts about children’s safety online.
"I think parents need to be increasingly vigilant because there are so many media and so many different avenues for accessing media, ” said Dr. Vic Strasburger at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. But while some parents agree that technology usage should be limited they also believe that embracing technology is part of being successful in today's world. "The implication is that parents are ignoring basic skills in favor of letting kids play games, " said Liz Gumbinner, publisher and editor-in-chief of Cool Mom Tech and Cool Mom Picks. But, "I don't think it's an either or. And, increasingly, computer skills are essential for navigating the world we live in." The idea is to strike a balance between the two.
Monica Vila, founder and chief technology mom of the parenting website The Online Mom, said she believes that children need to be well-versed in the ways of technology to compete, but added that children and adults need to learn when to step away from it, too.
MoreA new study that examined the concept of monogamy in young married couples found that for many, it’s a ‘complicated’ issue. “Couples have a hard time talking about these sorts of issues, and I would imagine for young people it’s even more difficult, ” Live Science quoted Jocelyn Warren of Oregon State University as saying. “Monogamy comes up quite a bit as a way to protect against sexually transmitted diseases. But you can see that agreement on whether one is monogamous or not is fraught with issues.”
The study of 434 married and unmarried couples ages 18-25 revealed that about 40 percent of young couples had differing opinions about how exclusive their relationship was and even among those who were on the same page, about 30 percent reported having cheated. The only indicator of exclusivity was the emotional commitment the partners reported investing in the relationship, assessed using a scale from 1-5 with 5 being the highest. Researcher Marie Harvey said that young couples in a monogamous relationship such as a marriage should be encouraged to have protected sex. Even if the person says his or her partner is monogamous, the clinician “may want to think about advising that young person to use protection, " Harvey said, since for many young adults, whether or not they know it, their relationship status remains: "It's complicated."
The study will be published in an issue of the Journal of Sex Research.
MoreBritish girls say that the worst morning-after nightmare is waking to their new lover's bad breath. A poll of 1, 045 adults by BioRepair toothpaste revealed that a stale mouth bothers nearly half of women-41 per cent-far higher than the one in four who fear getting naked in front of their man, reports the Daily Express. And one in three men are bothered too by 'morning mouth', revealed the survey.
Other dating nightmares include suffering awkward silences, being stood up and your partner in need of a deodorant. The poll has also revealed that most people fear having food stuck in their teeth, discovering they have no chemistry with their date, falling over and spilling a drink. One in four men fear being stood up on a date compared with just six per cent of women.
Louise Fair, spokeswoman for BioRepair toothpaste, said: "It was surprising just how fearful Brits are of having morning breath in front of a new partner, especially as this came in as more embarrassing than being naked in front of a new partner."

This Vikramaditya Motwane directed film uncovered some unconformable realities of the middle class India. The imposition of wishes of parents on children is a theme no film talks about openly. The film boasts of fine performances from both Rajat Barmecha as son and Ronit Roy as father.
