Fredericksburg police are looking for a urinal-damaging vandal who wreaked havoc in the city in Virginia , US on Friday. Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the man damaged urinals in at least seven city restaurants in or near Central Park that afternoon.

The vandal then claimed to be a plumber and tried to get several restaurants to pay him to fix them. One restaurant , Carlos O'Kellys , actually paid for work that turned out to be faulty , Bledsoe said. Police have identified the suspect as 39-year-old Timothy Banks of Fort Washington , Md.

He is charged with seven counts of felony vandalism and three counts of attempting to obtain money by false pretenses. Bledsoe said police have since learned that Banks has been charged with similar offenses in other localities , including Prince William and Fairfax counties.

The investigation began about 3:20 p.m. Friday when an employee at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant reported that a man had damaged a urinal in the men's bathroom before leaving in a gold Chrysler with Maryland license plates.

He was seen going into nearby Cheeseburger in Paradise , where he allegedly damaged another urinal and fled just before police arrived.

Bledsoe said the subsequent investigation revealed that similar incidents had recently taken place at Bonefish Grill , Smokey Bones , Ryan's Steak House , Outback Steakhouse and Carlos O'Kellys.

Bledsoe said that at Carlos O'Kellys , a pipe from the urinal had been ripped from the wall , causing water to flow onto the floor. The manager paid the suspect , who claimed to be a professional plumber , to fix it. It was still leaking after the suspect was gone. Bledsoe said she could not release the exact amount of money the phony plumber got , but said it was between $250 and $300.

A man’s been given a police warning after he was spotted jogging naked in the canton of Thurgau , Switzerland. The 26-year-old told police that running nude allowed his skin to absorb more oxygen.

He wasn’t entirely unattired though. He was wearing running shoes , a cap , sunglasses and a pouch around his waist. He said he ran in a similar outfit around three times a week.

Police registered an official complaint against him for indecent exposure , and the young man agreed to wear more clothing from now on.

Workers at a pizza-making plant in the Republic of Ireland are set to step up a strike after being sacked for allegedly viewing porn. Staff at Green Isle Foods in Co Kildare have won cross-union support for their protest. The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has granted their union , the Technical , Engineering and Electrical Union (TEEU) , permission for an all-out picket at the factory in Naas.

The plant may face serious disruption today if other union members , including suppliers and An Post workers , refuse to pass the picket. The company said three workers lost their jobs after viewing "adult material" and breaching the company's internet policy. But their union claims they are being scapegoated.

"One of our members received an email from outside the plant and was essentially dismissed for receiving an email , " said TEEU general secretary designate , Eamon Devoy. Over 40 workers went on strike last month after the workers lost their jobs.

The TEEU said the sackings were linked to a separate incident when the company sent a confidential file about seven redundancies to a worker by mistake.

A Green Bay man shot in the head while hunting Sunday was wounded by his hunting partner , according to a Depart-ment of Natural Resour- ces conservation warden.

Chou Vang , 70 , was struck below the right ear by a round from a .22 caliber rifle fired by his cousin , Ge Vang , 46 , also of Green Bay.

The pair were in the Navarino Wildlife Area Sept. 13. They were about a tenth of a mile north of Highway 156 , several hundred yards east of County Highway K when the accident occurred.

“The two entered the woods to go squirrel hunting , they separated and intended to hunt in different directions , ” said DNR warden Mark Schraufnagel. “The victim ended up in an area his partner didn’t expect him to be in at that time. The hunting partner observed a squirrel in the woods , and moments later observed movement he assumed the squirrel , and fired one shot at what turned out to be his hunting partner.”

The two men were 237 feet apart , the investigation determined. Schraufnagel said neither man was wearing blaze orange , but that’s not required when hunting small game , only during the deer gun season.

Despite the wound , Vang remained conscious and alert after the accident. He was taken by helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay , and has been released.

Schraufnagel said that in every hunting accident he’s investigated , one of the four rules of hunting has been broken. In this case , the rule was “know your target” by positively identifying what you plan to shoot.

A study by German scientists showed that 10 minutes a day of ogling women’s breasts by men was as good at warding off heart disease , high blood pressure and stress as 30 minutes of aerobic exercise.

The five-year study conducted by Dr. Karen Weatherby , followed 200 men. Those who partook in boob ogling for just 10 minutes a day enjoyed benefits equal to those of 30 minutes of grunting , groaning , sweating and doing push-ups at the gym.

Weatherby found that a mere 10-minutes of staring at well-endowed females is roughly the equivalent of a 30-minute aerobics workout , because sexual excitement gets the heart pumping and improves circulation.

A MAN has been hit with an Asbo banning him from "shouting , swearing and fighting" after being accused of terrorising neighbours. James Bush , 52 , of High Street , Prestonpans , was given a full antisocial behaviour order at Haddington Sheriff Court earlier this month after an application from East Lothian Council.

Complaints about Bush's behaviour date back to December 2007. Officials from East Lothian Council had visited Bush on a number of occasions to warn him about his actions but , in spite of this , reports of antisocial behaviour continued.

Under the terms of the Asbo he is now banned from "engaging in antisocial behaviour by acting in a manner that causes , or is likely to cause , alarm , distress , nuisance or annoyance to others , or pursuing a course of conduct that causes or is likely to cause alarm , distress , nuisance to others by shouting , swearing , fighting , being abusive , excessively noisy or threatening towards any person in his home , in its vicinity and in its gardens and communal areas."

Councillor Stuart Currie , the council's housing leader , said: "Through his inconsiderate behaviour Mr Bush has caused considerable upset to neighbours and others in his local community."

An Oak Bay mother says she's not happy with B.C. Transit's response to a recent incident where she and her 20-month-old daughter were forced off a bus by the driver because the child was making too much noise.

Jenny Manzer says she wants to ensure no other parent faces a similar situation. "Their response really has been inadequate , " said Manzer , who says she received a form letter and four free bus tickets. "I find that really insulting. I don't think they have taken it seriously enough."

But transit spokeswoman Joanna Morton said the incident is being taken seriously -- Manzer has received an apology and the driver is being monitored.

Manzer and her daughter , Briar Leach , were travelling from the University of Victoria to downtown Sept. 11 when Briar started to fuss. "She was just saying 'no , no , no , no.' It was loud and annoying , but she stayed in her seat and I was doing everything I could to calm her down , " Manzer said.

But the bus driver pulled up at the busy Lansdowne-Foul Bay intersection and demanded that Manzer leave the bus because the noise was affecting his driving. Manzer said she had no stroller and three bags and would have to carry Briar a considerable distance to get home.

"I appealed to stay because it was not a safe situation to get off the bus with her , and he said he didn't care and I would have to learn to control her."

Despite support for Manzer from other passengers , the bus driver would not relent , and Manzer was left struggling with bags and Briar on the street.

Manzer , a journalist , called the experience "dangerous , upsetting and humiliating."

She and partner David Leach , a professor at the University of Victoria , do not own a car and usually transport Briar and her brother AJ by bike and bus. Now , because of this experience , they're now wondering whether they should buy a vehicle.

Manzer , who e-mailed B.C. Transit immediately after the incident , said the majority of B.C. Transit drivers are "fantastic." "That's why this experience left me so stunned."

A woman in Florida , United States , escaped an alligator by poking him in the eye. On a hot day , Diane Blackwood stopped in the shade of an oak tree on the shore of Sawgrass Lake. Her vizsla , Ritka , sniffed along the waterline. Her dachshund , Beka , chased critters in the grass.

It was about 4:30 p.m. Monday , and Blackwood needed a break. She and her husband , Wesley Elsberry , had just followed a new job to Clearwater , and while he was at work she was surveying homes around the St. Petersburg park.

Suddenly , at the water's surface , a swirling. Something was underneath. Time to go. Blackwood called out a run command to her dogs and turned to walk away. Ritka , a trained bird dog , dashed up from the water. Blackwood , a 5-foot-2 human , tripped and fell.

Out of the swirling and onto the shore launched a nearly 7-foot alligator , its eyes pinned on her. She was on her hands and knees , crawling away , when it lunged again , sinking its teeth into her calf.

Did she scream? She can't remember , although she thinks she didn't. "It was slightly less painful than the blade of a lawn mower hitting your foot , " said Blackwood , 48. "I've had a horse step on my foot. It doesn't help to scream."

What would help , she thought as the alligator tugged at her leg , would be to get away. She reached back , stuck her hand between its jaws and tried to pry herself free. The prehistoric beast didn't let up. As her left hand locked with the alligator's mouth , her right hand went for something more sensitive — its eye. Her thumb dug into the socket.

Dalton Chiscolm , living in New York , is unhappy about Bank of America's customer service -- really , really unhappy. Chiscolm in August sued the largest U.S. bank and its board , demanding that "1 , 784 billion , trillion dollars" be deposited into his account the next day. He also demanded an additional $200 , 164 , 000 , court papers show.

Attempts to reach Chiscolm were unsuccessful. A Bank of America spokesman declined to comment. "Incomprehensible , " U.S. District Judge Denny Chin said in a brief order released Thursday in Manhattan federal court.

"He seems to be complaining that he placed a series of calls to the bank in New York and received inconsistent information from a 'Spanish wom[a]n , '" the judge wrote. "He apparently alleges that checks have been rejected because of incomplete routing numbers."

Chin has experience with big numbers. He's the judge who sentenced Bernard Madoff to a 150-year prison sentence for what the government called a $65 billion Ponzi scheme.

Bank of America Corp (BAC.N) faces real legal problems , including New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's threat to sue its chief executive and a judge's embarrassing rejection of a settlement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Yet the money Chiscolm wants could dwarf all the bank's other problems.

A California man was arrested on suspicion of stalking after he allegedly used his airplane to violate a restraining order by buzzing a neighborhood , police said Thursday.

In recent weeks , Concord , California , police were investigating an incident in which leaflets were dropped over a residential neighborhood , possibly by a low-flying airplane , police said in a statement.

"The leaflets referenced a specific person and contained defamatory language and racial slurs. As the investigation has progressed , it appears that the motivation behind this situation is a failed domestic relationship , " the statement read.

The investigation led to the identification of a possible suspect , a 51-year-old licensed pilot. Concord police served the man with a restraining order on Wednesday , the statement said.

On Wednesday evening , police received several calls from residents of the neighborhood reporting a low-flying private airplane in the area. "The plane was reported to have made eight passes over the neighborhood , " the statement said.

Police officers responded to the airport and contacted the man after he landed his plane. It was the same man who had been served with the restraining order earlier in the day , police said. He was arrested on suspicion of stalking and violating a restraining order.

A FORFAR MAN was jailed for a year yesterday after knifing another local in the culmination of a long-running feud at a stables.

Thomas Thompson had gone to Pitreuchie Farm on the outskirts of town after a frantic phone call from friend Tracey Napier over an incident in which she believed the victim had tried to run over her pet donkey.

The court heard Thompson took a knife for protection , but ended up striking victim David McPhail on the hand to his severe injury. Thompson (30) , of Glenmoy Terrace , and Napier (33) , Viewmount , both Forfar , appeared before Sheriff Daniel Kelly at the town’s sheriff court having previously admitted charges on an indictment relating to the events of February 22.

Thompson pleaded guilty to seizing the victim by his clothing , butting him on the face and knocking him to the ground before striking him on the hand with a knife to his severe injury. Napier admitted being in possession of offensive weapons , namely iron bars.

Defence agent Bob Bruce urged Sheriff Kelly to spare his client from jail , saying Thompson was “genuine in his remorse.” He said , “Obviously this offence is serious but there are fairly extenuating circumstances and the attitude of the complainer is something you may wish to take into account.”

Napier’s agent Julie Young said there was a long-standing history of problems between her client and the Mr McPhail which made her extremely anxious when he was around.

“She saw her donkey there tethered to one of the buildings and thought someone must have tied it there after it broke loose. “The complainer appeared in his vehicle and she felt he was attempting to run the donkey down.

“She is very distressed to find herself in this position and is well aware of the seriousness of it.” Sheriff Kelly told Thompson , “Where there is a knife involved the court will always deal with that very seriously.
