| | | Lesson 10 | | | | Coloring | | If you want to color any cartoon there are many options. You can color with hands using watercolor, poster color or you can use graphic software. PhotoShop is a good graphic software for coloring any work of art. It has better effect than coloring with water color or poster color. A good feature of this software is that you can go back if you make some mistakes in coloring. | | | The following are the steps to color a cartoon in PhotoShop using Brush tool | | | - Open the drawing you want to paint or fill color in after scanning it and saving it in your computer system.
- Click on magic wand tool (or press key W)
- Take the mouse to the area you want to color. It must be circled.
- Click on the circled area. Now that area is selected.
- Now go to Brush tool (or press key B). Now Brush is selected.
- Chose the color of Brush by clicking on the ‘Set foreground color’ option in the tool bar
- Make large or small the size of Brush by clicking on [ and ] keys.
- Start coloring the selected area of the drawing by moving the mouse.
- After finishing the coloring, press Control + D to deselect the area of drawing
- Your coloring is complete
- You can repeat the same process to color every part of the drawing.

| | | Lesson 9 | | | | Drawing caricature | Caricature is an exaggerated and humorous visual representation of a person. You should try to draw caricatures once you have started to make good cartoon. Study of facial features of a person is required if you want to draw caricature of the person. Try to figure out what the prominent features in the face of the person are. | | | For example here are two faces. Study them and try to figure out the most prominent features of the faces. | | | | | | | You will notice that the first person has prominent forehead, chin and eyebrows. Horizon line is the height from where the viewer is seeing a certain scene in the drawing while the vanishing-point is that point where two parallel lines running into the distance seem to meet or disappear.
